Very close by you can take a taxi in about 15 minutes to the jungle in Dos Mangas where you can horseback ride to nearby waterfalls and to see Howler monkeys and All kinds of birds and wildlife.
Traveling north are some of the most beautiful beaches in Ecuador like nearby Olon and Ayampe. About an hour north is Puerto Lopez with all kinds of whale watching, sports fishing and scuba diving in nearby islands. If you’re traveling south about an hour you will find Salinas with all kinds of shopping, transportation and medical.
